Parking (Front Accessible Parking)

  • Car Park View
    • The car park is located at the front of the hospital grounds.
    • The car park is open air/surface.
    • The car park surface consists of tarmac.
    • There are 6 designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
    • The Blue Badge bays are clearly marked and signposted.
    • The surveyed Blue Badge parking bay dimensions are 248cm (width) x 710cm (depth).

Getting To (The Stanhoe Ward)

  • The Stanhoe Ward is/are located on the first floor of the hospital, in Area 7.
  • Access to the Stanhoe Ward is via the main hospital entrance.
  • Enter the hospital via the main entrance and proceed along the main corridor, through Area 1 and into Area 3.
    At the end of the corridor, proceed along the corridor to the left and the lifts will be on the left hand side.
    Take the lift to the first floor.
    On exiting the lift, proceed along the corridor that is to the right, entering Area 7.
    Continue along this corridor to the Corridor Entrance, which is located in the corner, on the right.
    Go through the entrance and proceed ahead. The entrance to the Stanhoe Ward is located at the end of the corridor.
  • There is step free access, via lift, to the Stanhoe Ward.
  • The Stanhoe Ward is approximately 100m from the lift.
  • There are resting areas along the route.
  • Wayfinding signage is provided.
  • Dementia friendly signage is not provided.
  • There is flooring in corridors which is shiny and could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.

Entrance (Main Entrance)

  • This entrance is located at the front of the main hospital building.
  • The entrance area is clearly signed.
  • There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
  • There is step-free access via slope at the entrance.
  • The slope has a slight gradient.
  • The height of the hand sanitiser is 111cm.

  • The ground and first floor are accessed by this lift.
  • The lift door has a high visual contrast.
  • The lift has a level manoeuvring space in front of it for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
  • The external lift control buttons have tactile markings, Braille markings and a high visual contrast.
  • None of the external lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
  • The lift door opening width is 138cm.
