About Tunbridge Wells Borough Council

Named as one of the most desirable and happiest places in the UK, Tunbridge Wells offers a variety of memorable experiences all year around. Lying in the unspoilt beauty of the Wealth countryside, the small towns and villages still retain the essence of the medieval English landscape with a long history of hop-picking beer-brewing and fruit growing.  Much of the area is in the High Weald, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and an attraction in itself along with the extraordinary historic houses and landscaped gardens, castles, exceptional churches and other places of interest. The town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is most famous for the historic Pantiles and Chalybeate Spring that mark the beginning of Royal Tunbridge Wells as a visitor destination.
