Access To
- Roberts Building Lecture Theatre 309 is located on the third floor of the Darwin Extension.

- The most accessible route has a lift, a very easy ramp or slope, manual doors and doors permanently held open.
- There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access via lift Roberts Lecture Theatre 309.
- There are double manual doors which open away from you.
- The width of the opening is 162cm.
- The doors have a high visual contrast.
Teaching
- This is a lecture theatre.
- There is step-free level access to the speaker’s area and front row only.
- The following areas have stepped access: The majority of the lecture theatre.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a portable hearing assistance system which is not clearly signed.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- There is tiered seating with a handrail on the left going up the steps.
- There is a designated space for a wheelchair user.
- The designated spaces for wheelchair users are located in front of the speakers desk .
- There is step-free level access to the designated space surveyed.
- Companions sit next to you and behind you.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs without armrests and lecture chairs.
- Furniture available in the room includes: desks.
- All desks and some seating are fixed.
- The surface heights are not suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of some surfaces is suitable for wheelchair users.
- The height of the speaker's desk/table is 83cm.
- The speaker's desk/table is not height adjustable.
- This room has a projector screen and a whiteboard.
- There is a handrail on the right going up for the steps to the right of the lecture theatre and a handrail on the left going up for the steps to the left of the lecture theatre.
