About Royal Eye Infirmary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust has a dedicated building for the ophthalmology service. Not far from Derriford Hospital is the REI, situated in our brand new three-floor, state-of-the-art facility that brings together the outpatient and surgical eye treatments that were previously provided at Derriford Hospital. The new facility includes theatres, an increased number of treatment rooms and an expanded area for young patients. It also includes the addition of a third operating theatre dedicated to sub-specialisms, such as oculoplastic, orbital and corneal surgeries.
