Access To
- Lecture Theatre 1 is located to the rear right of the Faculty of Architecture and History of Art building on the upper part of the ground floor.
- View information on Faculty of Architecture and History of Art (1-5 Scroope Terrace) (opens new tab) .
- The most accessible route has steep ramps or slopes.
- The most accessible route involves using the steep ramp on the ground floor to access the Art Studio before heading through the Art Studio to access an external walkway to the rear of the building.
Once on the external walkway you will need to turn right and head along the walkway to reach the external accessible entrance into the lecture theatre. - There is no signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into Lecture Theatre 1 from the walkway.
- There is a key card reader at the entrance at a height of 105cm.
- There is a single manual door which opens towards you.
- The width of the opening is 92cm.
- The door has a high visual contrast.
- There are internal entrances within the building which all have stepped access.
Teaching
- This is a lecture theatre.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: the speaker's area can be accessed by a steep ramp to access which bypasses the step.
- The following areas have stepped access: the speaker's area can be accessed by a single step which can be bypassed by use of a steep ramp.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.
- The walls and floor have a high colour contrast.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- There are no designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs without armrests and high stools.
- The height of the speaker's desk/table is 96cm.
- The speaker's desk/table is not height adjustable.
- This room has a projector screen, a whiteboard and a blackboard.
