Getting Inside
- The approach to the building varies depending on the direction of travel.
- There is step-free level access on the approach to the building from the David Fussey Building and Fry Building.
- There is step-free access (via very easy slopes) on the approach to the building from the Library Health Sciences Building, Wren Building, Bronte Building and Southwood House.
- There is step-free access via slight slopes on the approach to the building from the Dome Building.
- The Mary Seacole Building has one entrance, which provides step-free access (via a slight ramp) to the ground floor. There are two sets of double automatic doors at this entrance.
- The entrance is signed as "Mary Seacole Building", however the signage is not clearly visible by the doors themselves.
- The entrance gives step-free access (via a slight ramp) to the entrance foyer on the ground floor.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the building on all floors, and to all floors, via lift.
- Floor surfaces along circulation routes are comprised of shiny vinyl and stone, as well as low pile carpet.
- There are resting areas in circulation and lobby areas throughout the building, with a mixture of seating.
- Wall-mounted wayfinding and floor plan signage is provided throughout the building on all floors.
- There are push-pad activated double automatic doors to access the south stairs and toilet area on the ground, first and second floors.
- There are (further) push-pad activated single automatic doors to access the toilet areas on the first, second and third floors.
- There is a single manual door to access the south stairs on the third floor.
- There are permanently-held-open manual doors throughout the building corridors on all floors.

Toilet Facilities

- There are 4 toilets with adaptations.
- Toilets with adaptations are located on the ground floor, to the left as you enter the building, then to the right as you enter the south stairwell; and on the first, second and third floors, straight ahead, at the far end of the corridor as you exit the lift.
- The transfer space varies between left and right in the toilets with adaptations.
- The male and female step-free toilet facilities are located on the ground floor, to the left as you enter the building, then to the right as you enter the south stairwell; and on the second and third floors, straight ahead, at the far end of the corridor as you exit the lift.
- The female step-free toilet facilities are located on the first floor, straight ahead, at the far end of the corridor as you exit the lift.

- The car park is located to the rear of the David Fussey Building, on the south side of the campus.

- Parking is not free for all users.
- Parking is free for Blue Badge holders.
- Clearly presented parking signs are available.
- Payment machines are located on the campus, outside the Mary Seacole Building.
- There is not a payment machine with controls at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.

- The car park is ANPR controlled. Payment is made at the end of your stay using the on-site machines, in advance using the online booking system, or online by midnight using the Trust app. Please visit the website above for information on the latter two options. Unless booked in advance, Blue Badge holders must enter their registration into the on-site machines or the Trust app to avoid a penalty charge.

- There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.

- The ramp is over 150cm wide with no handrails.
- There are double automatic doors at this entrance.

- The steps have faded markings and have handrails on both sides.
- The handrails are easy to grip.
- The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrails extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm.
- The height of the highest step is 16cm.
- The depth of the steps is between 30cm and 45cm.
- Lighting levels vary due to the use of large glazed walls.
