Social Learning Space

  • This Social Learning Space is located on the mezzanine floor, above the Refectory, and accessed by the platform lift.
  • The Social Learning Space contains seating areas and tables for students to sit and study, individually or in groups (shown in photographs 1 and 2), as well as computer terminals on desks of different heights, which can be used at any time (shown in photograph 3).
  • Once on the mezzanine floor, there is level access throughout.
  • The lighting levels are bright and there is no music played.
  • This area is not a quiet space as it is located above the refectory and is open plan.

    • The floors which are accessible by stairs are G, M, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
    • The stairs are located to the rear left of the building.
    • The stairs are approximately 19m from the main entrance.

    • There are manual, heavy, single doors to access the stairwell on all floors.
    • The lighting levels are medium.
    • The steps are clearly marked.
    • The steps are medium height (11cm - 17cm).
    • The steps do have handrails.
    • The steps have a handrail on both sides.

Lift (Main Lifts)

Forensic Scene of Crime Room (106)

  • The Forensic Scene of Crime Room is located in room number 106 on the first floor of Paragon House.
  • The width of door into the room is 84cm.
  • The door opens away from you.
  • A key code is needed to access the room with the number pad at a height of 152cm.
  • There are trip hazards within the room.
  • The layout changes of the room is frequently changed to create different scenarios.

Location of Toilet/Changing Facilities

  • Accessible toilet facilities are located next to the main bank of lifts on all floors except the mezzanine floor.
  • Female and male standard toilet facilities are located to the rear of the floor on all floors except the Mezzanine Floor.
  • Parent and baby changing facilities are located in the ground floor accessible toilet cubicle located next to the main lift bank.
