Introduction
- This route from the Information Centre to King's Manor involves the use of a bus, however there is a still a walking component of approximately 0.5 miles.
There are steep slopes along the route.

Information Centre to West Campus Interchange
- From the Information Centre accessible entrance go ahead and follow the path round to the right and head towards the Market Square along the tarmac pavement with a slight downhill gradient.
- After approximately 40m, head down the steep slope with no handrails towards the Market Square. The surface is tarmac leading to paving slabs.
- At the bottom of the slope turn left and head down the alleyway for approximately 35m.
- At the end of the alleyway turn right, heading towards the West Campus Interchange on University Road.
West Cambridge Interchange
- The West Interchange Bus Station has seating and a shelter.
- There is an information point with a screen 116cm-146cm high.
- The surface is tarmac.
Rougier Street Bus Stop
- The bus station is sheltered and has seating available.
- The surface is level and is paving slabs.
Rougier Street Bus Stop to Museum Street
- Upon leaving the bus stop head south west towards Station Road.
- After 2m there is a service road with tactile dropped kerbs on either side.
- Cross the service road and continue on along the paved road for approximately 40m.
- There is a slight downhill gradient as you head towards Station Road.
- Just before reaching Station Road there is a crossing on the right to cross Rougier Street.
Rouger Street Crossing
- The crossing is a pedestrian crossing with tactile dropped kerbs either side and controls at a height of 110cm.
- The crossing has visual and audible warnings with a rotating cone on the right hand crossing control.
- Traffic comes from the left and right.
Museum Street to St Leonard's Place
- After crossing Rougier Street turn left and follow the path round to the right to go cross the bridge over the Ouse and onto Museum Street.
- There is a steep slope to access the bridge.
- The surface is paving slabs.
- Go across the bridge and onto Museum Street.
- Continue ahead for 180m until you reach St Leonard's Place.
- The surface of the pavement is paving slabs and there is a noticeable uphill gradient along Museum Street.
- After approximately 80m you will need to cross Lendal Street, which has tactile dropped kerbs on either side.
- Continue for another 100m until you reach the pedestrian crossing that crosses Museum Street and leads to St Leonard's Place.
Museum Street Crossing
- There is a pedestrian crossing to cross Museum Street.
- The crossing has tactile paving on both sides and a dropped kerb on the far side.
- The controls for the crossing are 108cm high with a rotating cone under the controls on the right.
- The crossing has visual and audible warning signals.
- Traffic comes from the left and right.
St Leonard's Place to Exhibition Square
- Cross Museum Street and turn right and follow the path round to the left onto St Leonard's Place.
- The surface is paving slabs.
- Continue along St Leonard's Place for 120m until you reach a service road with tactile dropped kerbs on either side.
- Go across the service road and continue along for approximately 40m to reach Exhibition Square.
Exhibition Square and King's Manor Entrance Gate
- To access Exhibition Square from St Leonard's Place there is a section of tactile paving.
- There is a slight downward gradient on entering Exhibition Square.
- The surface is paving slabs.
- Head to the left of Exhibition Square and you will find the entrance gate into King's Manor.
- The smaller gate has a width of 95cm and the larger a width of 305cm.
- Both gates are permanently held open.
