Access To
- The UG Kitchen is located on the lower first floor of the building as you enter through the concert hall entrance, immediately to the right and then on the left as you exit the platform lift on this floor.
- View information on E and MRC - Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall and Music Research Centre (opens new tab) .
- The most accessible route has step-free level access, a platform lift, doors permanently held open, shiny flooring and patterned flooring.
- There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access to enter the UG Kitchen.
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 78cm.
- The door has a high visual contrast.
Kitchen/Dining
- There is not room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- The flooring is shiny.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- The work surface is 92cm from the floor.
- A lowered work surface is not available.
- Under counter cupboards are available.
- The sink is 92cm from the floor.
- The sink has a twist turn mixer tap.
- Facilities within the kitchen include a fridge, a dishwasher, a microwave, a kettle and a toaster.
- The following machines are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user: dishwasher.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey, with unshaded light sources.
- There is an additional tap with push button controls.
