Getting Here (University Park South Entrance)

  • By Road View
    • The campus is located 2 miles to the west of Nottingham City Centre.
      It can be accessed from the north or south via the M1 and the A52.
      University Park is the University of Nottingham’s largest campus and there are 3 entrances onto the site; North Entrance, South Entrance and West Entrance.
      The South Entrance is accessed off the A6005 (University Boulevard), which leads off the A52 (Clifton Boulevard).
      Satnav users can use NG7 2RD for the quickest and most accurate journey. The North Entrance is accessed from the westbound A52 (Derby Road), the South Entrance from the A6005 (University Boulevard) and the West Entrance from the A6464 (Woodside Road).
      Satnav users can use NG7 2RD for the quickest and most accurate journey.
    • If you are visiting the campus temporarily, then you should park in one of the pay and display car parks on campus. These car parks are highlighted on the campus map below.
      Blue Badge parking can be found in these main pay and display car parks and also in building car parks throughout the site.

    • There is a bus stop within 150 metres of the campus.
    • There are several bus services which run through the University Park Campus. These include; St Peter's Court Shuttle, 34C, 34, N34 Night Service and 36U.
      Bus stops can be found in; East Drive, Portland Hill, Library Road and Beeston Lane.
      The South Entrance can also be accessed via buses that serve University Boulevard via the Skylink Nottingham service, the 18 and Indigo Service. The stop is known as South Entrance (Stop UN04).
      There is also a free inter-campus bus service for both staff and students.
      Services run from the main University Park Campus to:
      - Sutton Bonington Campus
      - Royal Derby Hospital Centre
      - King's Meadow Campus
      - Jubilee Campus.

    • Nottingham Express Transit’s (NET) tram service links University Park Campus directly to Nottingham city centre - including Nottingham Train Station.

East and West Entrances to Quad

  • The Trent Building has a quadrangle shape with a central courtyard which is known as the Quad.
  • The most commonly used entrances into the building (the Main (South) Entrance and the North Entrance) are located within the Quad.
  • Alternative access is via the Great Hall Entrance directly from the West Car Park.
  • Access into the Quad is via the West Entrance or East Entrance which are located off the West Car Park and East Car Park respectively.
  • Both the East and West entrances are open passageways with a central bollard.
  • The passing widths for the bollards range from 118cm to 125cm.
  • The bollards do not have a good colour contrast with the flooring but affixed signs make them distinguishable.
  • The Quad has a smooth paved surface throughout with only very slight to slight slopes.

Getting Around

  • Access View

    • There is stepped access to the 'L1 - West - Toilet/Shower Rooms', the 'Male - Great Hall - Senate Chamber Corridor Stair' standard toilet and the stage in the Great Hall.
    • There is no Lower Ground floor on the north side of the building.
      The Lower Ground floor has 3 split levels.
      The main (South) lift gives access to the upper section (L1) and the lower section (LG) where the café and East Drive corridor are located.
      This lift does not serve the middle section of the lower ground floor but there is a platform lift between the lowest and middle sections at either end of the south corridor.
      There is no internal access to A (Ground) floor in the north side of the building from the south side.
      This means you have to exit the building via the Main Entrance, cross the Quad and re-enter via the North Entrance.
      Please note there are no accessible toilet facilities on the north side of the building.
      There is internal access between the north and south sides of the building on B (First) and C (Second) floors.
