The town is perfectly placed to explore the south and has a range of superb sporting facilities, such as one of the best public golf courses in England - Tilgate Forest.  Crawley has a rich history and heritage going back to the Bronze Age, but the town really took off in the 1940's when it was designated one of 8 'New Towns'.
