Halton, made up of the twin towns of Runcorn and Widnes, sits on either side of the River Mersey. The borough has a broad selection of shops, restaurants, cinemas, leisure facilities, libraries, parks and museums, and a diverse economy with a focus on logistics, science and industrial manufacturing. Walking part of the Trans-Pennine Trail, weaving down a canal, or enjoying one of Halton’s many special events such as Creamfields, there’s many ways to spend your spare time here. There’s the Brindley arts centre and Norton Priory Museum and Gardens for culture lovers, the Catalyst science and discovery centre for science fans, and plenty of nature reserves and countryside walks for outdoorsy types.
