COVID-19 Information

  • The information in this section was taken in October 2020.
  • The terminal is closed to passengers and flights between 17:00 and 05:00 every night. There is no access into the terminal building during these closure hours.
  • The free set-down option in the Mid-Stay car park has moved to Blue Short Stay. Blue Short Stay is a 10-15 minute walk from the terminal. The Express Set Down (chargeable) remains open as usual.
  • There have been no changes to the entrances or exits.
  • Only passengers flying are allowed to enter the terminal wherever possible. Family/friends/carers may enter to assist passengers who require help on Departure or Arrival.
  • Hand sanitising stations are available at:
    - The main check-in concourse x2.
    - Immediately after Security before Duty Free x2.
    - Immigration before the Border.
    - Baggage Reclaim Hall.
    in addition to handwashing facilities in all existing toilets.
  • Extensive signage is in place to remind passengers about social distancing, the requirement to wear a face covering and to wash hands.
  • Protective screens are in place at all desks including; Check-in Desks, Information Desks, PRM Receptions, and Boarding Gates.
  • There have been no change to the toilet facilities.
  • Face masks are required in all indoor areas at all times, unless when seated to eat/drink. If a passenger is exempt from wearing a face mask for medical reasons they are advised to check with the airline, as all airlines flying from Stansted may require proof of exemption before allowing boarding.

Coach Station, Train Station, Orange/Red Short Stay Car Park and Meet & Greet Car Park

Tunnel 1

  • It is approximately 50m (55yd) from the Tunnel 1 entrance to the Tunnel 1 and 2 ramp.
  • It is approximately 110m (120yd) from the Tunnel 1 entrance to the nearest escalator.
  • It is approximately 132m (144yd) from the Tunnel 1 entrance to the Tunnel 1 and 2 lift.
  • Tunnel 1 leads from the Red Car Park.

Tunnel 2

  • It is approximately 90m (98yd) from the Tunnel 2 entrance to the Tunnel 1 and 2 ramp.
  • It is approximately 50m (55yd) from the Tunnel 2 entrance to the nearest escalator.
  • It is approximately 75m (82yd) from the Tunnel 2 entrance to the Tunnel 1 and 2 lift.
  • Tunnel 2 is located by the Meet and Greet reception building and the Coach Station.

Tunnel 3

  • It is approximately 90m (98yd) from the Tunnel 3 entrance to the Tunnel 3 and 4 ramp.
  • It is approximately 50m (55yd) from the Tunnel 3 entrance to the nearest escalator.
  • It is approximately 75m (82yd) from the Tunnel 3 entrance to the Tunnel 3 and 4 lift.
  • Tunnel 3 is located close to the Coach Station and the Blue Badge bays in Row A of the Orange Car Park.

Tunnel 4

  • It is approximately 50m (55yd) from the Tunnel 4 entrance to the Tunnel 3 and 4 ramp.
  • It is approximately 90m (98yd) from the Tunnel 4 entrance to the nearest escalator.
  • It is approximately 115m (126yd) from the Tunnel 4 entrance to the Tunnel 3 and 4 lift.
  • Tunnel 4 leads from the Orange Car Park.

Walkway

  • There is a walkway, with level access, at the rear of the tunnels.
  • This links all of the tunnels and the lifts, ramps and escalators together.

Ramp(s) or Slope(s) (Tunnel 1 and Tunnel 2)

  • There is a ramp/slope located leading to the terminal.
  • The ramp/slope is used to access the terminal.
  • The gradient of the ramp/slope is steep.
  • The ramp/slope is permanent.

Lift (Tunnel 1 and Tunnel 2)

  • The dimensions of the lift are 170cm x 363cm (5ft 7in x 11ft 11in).
  • There are no separate entry and exit doors in the lift.
  • There is not a mirror to aid reversing out of the lift.
  • The lift does have a visual floor indicator.
  • The lift does have an audible announcer.
  • The internal controls for the lift are within 90cm - 120cm from the floor.
  • The lift does have tactile markings.
  • The lighting levels in the lift are moderate to good.

Lift (Tunnel 3 and Tunnel 4)

  • The clear door width is 171cm (5ft 7in).
  • The dimensions of the lift are 168cm x 364cm (5ft 6in x 11ft 11in).
  • There are no separate entry and exit doors in the lift.
  • There is not a mirror to aid reversing out of the lift.
  • The lift does have a visual floor indicator.
  • The lift does have an audible announcer.
  • The internal controls for the lift are within 90cm - 120cm from the floor.
  • The lift does not have Braille markings.
  • The lift does have tactile markings.
  • The lighting levels in the lift are moderate to good.

Escalator(s)

  • Escalator(s) View
    • Escalators can be used to access other floors.
    • The escalators go both up and down.
    • The floors which are accessible by escalator(s) are -1 (Train Station), 0 (Short Stay Car Park, Coach Station, Meet and Greet, Valet Reception, Pick Up Point), 1 (Terminal).
    • The lighting levels at the escalator(s) are moderate to good.
  • Comments View
    • There are two sets of two escalators.
    • The escalators between Levels 0 and -1 at the end of Tunnel 3 have a clearly marked head and foot.

External Concourse
