About Stevenage Borough Council

Stevenage is a large town within Hertfordshire, with great connections to London (fast trains will take you to the capital in under 20 minutes), Cambridge and neighbouring towns including Hitchin and Welwyn Garden City.  The town benefits from distinct shopping areas including The Town Centre, Roaring Meg Retail Park and Stevenage Old Town. Each area offers different experiences, with national brands ranging from Marks & Spencer to independent shops that are unique to Stevenage.

Aside from its shopping offer, the town has a dedicated Leisure Park with a cinema and bowling offer in addition to other adult and child-friendly indoor activities and restaurants.

Stevenage town centre is the UK's first wholly pedestrianised shopping centre, where brands such as Pandora, Next and Primark coexist alongside a mix of independent shops, restaurants, coffee shops and the Stevenage Museum.  The town centre houses the Westgate Shopping Centre which is home to over 30 popular high street names in a covered setting.  This is in addition to the popular Indoor Market.
