About Stevenage Borough Council

Stevenage is a large town within Hertfordshire, with great connections to London (fast trains under 20 minutes), Cambridge and neighbouring towns including Hitchin and Welwyn Garden City.  The town benefits from distinct shopping areas; The Town Centre, Roaring Meg, Leisure Park and Old Town. Each area offers unique experiences. Brands range from big names such as a flagship Debenhams, Costco and Laura Ashley to independent shops you won’t find anywhere else in the country. The leisure park contains a Cineworld 4DX cinemas, as well as an array of adult and child-friendly indoor activities and restaurants.

Stevenage Town Centre is the UK's first wholly pedestrianised shopping centre, where brands such as Pandora, Next and Primark coexist with a mix of independent shops, restaurants, coffee shops and the Stevenage Museum.  The Town Centre houses the Westgate Shopping Centre which is home to over 30 popular high street names all under one roof.  Set within the town centre you’ll also find our indoor market selling authentic products and a real anchor for the community.  The centre is currently going through an exciting time as the town regenerates
