- LMO, LFA, LBK and LBU - University Library and Borthwick Institute for Archives is a very large building which is split into 3 wings.
The LMO (JB Morrell Library) is the central wing, and has 4 floors.
The LFA (Fairhurst) is the west wing, and has 3 floors.
The LBU (Burton) is the east wing, and has 3 floors.
The LBK (Borthwick Institute for Archives) is a sub-unit, occupying part of the first floor of the Burton. - There are 3 main lifts and 3 main staircases within the building, with 1 lift and 1 staircase in each of JB Morrell, Fairhurst and Burton.
- The floors are signed as 0, 1, 2 and 3.
- The 3 wings are only linked on the ground floor, with no access between each wing on the upper floors.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free and level.
- Access from Central Car Park 2.4 to the main entrance is via a lift and a slight ramp.
Access from Car Park North 3.1 to the main entrance is via a platform lift and steep ramps. - LMO, LFA, LBK and LBU - University Library and Borthwick Institute for Archives has one entrance - the main entrance. This provides step-free level access to the ground floor of the JB Morrell Library.
There are three sets of double automatic doors available at this entrance, followed by an automatic accessible security barrier (with alternative manual security turnstiles). - The entrance is signed as "University Library - Fairhurst, Morrell, Burton & Borthwick".
- The main entrance provides step-free level access to the ground floor of the JB Morrell Library.
- There is an additional staff-only entrance located to the rear of the Fairhurst wing, leading in from Car Park North 3.1. There is a steep ramp and two sets of push-pad activated double automatic doors at this entrance.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the majority of the building on all floors.
- On the ground floor, there is a slight ramp, with no handrails, between the first and second sets of doors at the internal entrance to the Fairhurst wing from the JB Morrell.
- Floor surfaces along circulation routes consist of low pile carpet, with some shiny vinyl flooring. A few resting areas off the main circulation routes have deep pile carpet.
- There are resting areas in some circulation and lobby areas with a mixture of seating.

There are several of these machines located around the JB Morrell Library, with similar specifications.
Next to this machine are two self-return machines. They are equipped with a touchscreen with a height range between 118cm and 142cm, with the book scanner at a height of 96cm and receipt printer at a height of 92cm.
In all cases, staff can assist if necessary, or you can go to the main reception counter. - This library is able to provide material in the following formats: large print, ebook, ejournal and audio.
- Auxiliary aids available in this library include: ergonomic chairs, adjustable foot rests, document holders, handheld magnifiers, CCTV/video magnifiers, coloured overlays and headsets.
