About London Borough of Wandsworth Council

Situated in southwest London, Wandsworth is famous for its great parks, fantastic services, strong communities – and this year will be in the spotlight as the Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture 2025.

With a population of over 300,000 people, it’s one of the biggest in inner London, but it’s also the safest and one of the greenest.

Made up of a collection of different neighbourhoods and five town centres, it’s a borough of contrasts – stroll by the Thames in Putney, visit the fantastic restaurants and markets of Tooting, enjoy the many parks and commons or enjoy the exciting new neighbourhood around Battersea Power Station.

Transport links are good, with seven tube stations on the District and Northern Line, overground stations including Britain’s busiest at Clapham Junction, and a wide range of bus routes to and from central London and elsewhere.
