Getting To The Airport
- The airport is located to the north of Crawley, just off J9 of the M23.

- Bus and coach stops vary in distance from the terminal.

- The nearest Railway Station is Gatwick Airport.
- There is step-free access via lift from all platforms directly to the terminal building.
- There is an assisted travel handover process from the train station to the airport. Please contact the Airport Special Assistance Team to make arrangements.

Airport Parking Summary

Getting to the Terminal

- There is a bus service available that runs between the car park and the terminal.
- There is step-free access via ramp from the Blue Badge bay to the nearest bus stop .

Exiting the Car Park by Car

- This area is situated within the Short Stay Car Park. You must ultimately enter and exit this car park via the main barriers into and out of the standard Short Stay Car Park.
Entrance (Valet Reception - Car Collection)
- This entrance is located straight ahead as you exit the Red Zone Lifts on Level 2.
- The approach to the entrance has posts.
- The entrance area is clearly signed.
- There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at this entrance.
- There are no help points available.
- There is a single automatic door which opens by sliding.
- The width of the opening is 131cm.
- The door has a low visual contrast.
Counter (Valet Reception - Car Collection)
- The counter is located on Level 2 of the Short Stay Car Park Red Zone.
- The counter is approximately 12m from the Red Zone Lifts.
- Clear signage for the counter is visible from the entrance.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 113cm.
- The lowered section of the counter is at a height of 74cm.
- There is not a clear knee recess beneath the lowered section of the counter.

- The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrails do not extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- Steps are split with a resting area.
- The height of the highest step is 18cm.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
Lift (Short Stay Car Park- Red Zone)
- The lift is located to the west of the Red Zone.
- The floors which are accessible by the lift surveyed are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
- The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door has a high visual contrast.
- The external lift control buttons have a low visual contrast.
- All of the external lift controls are at the recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
- The lift door opening width is 134cm.
- The internal dimensions of the lift are 183cm x 178cm.

Lift (Short Stay Car Park - Blue and Orange Zones)
- The lift is located to the west of the Blue and Orange Zones.
- The floors which are accessible by the lift surveyed are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
- The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door has a high visual contrast.
- The external lift control buttons have a high visual contrast and tactile markings.
- All of the external lift controls are at the recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
- The lift door opening width is 137cm.
- The internal dimensions of the lift are 169cm x 192cm.
- The internal lift control buttons have tactile markings and a high visual contrast.
- All of the internal lift controls are at the recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).

Pick up and Drop Off Points (Level 0)
- There are clearly marked accessible pick up and drop off points available.
- There are clearly marked pick up and drop off points available.
- The drop-off point is located on Level 0, to the east of the terminal building.
- The drop-off point is limited to 30 minutes for £6 up to 10 minutes, £1 per minute thereafter. £26 for over 20 minutes.
- The most accessible route from the drop-off point to the terminal has a lift, slight ramps/slopes and bollards.
- The pick up point is located on Level 0 of the Short Stay Car Park Orange Zone.
- The most accessible route from the arrivals area to the pick-up point has a lift, steep slopes/ramps and bollards.
- The Accessible Drop-Off/Pick Up point is located to the left of the Standard Drop-Off Zone, where the coach stops are. There is step-free level access from here to the Special Assistance Reception, and step-free level access (via lift) to the Terminal on Level 2. Use of this Drop-Off point is free for Blue Badge holders, however you must contact the airport in advance to give your registration and avoid being given a Parking Charge Notice.
Ramp / Slope (From Standard Pick-Up Point to Standard Drop-Off Point)
- The ramp is located between the standard pick-up point and the standard drop-off point.
- The ramp is used to access the standard pick-up point from the standard drop-off point (in turn accessed via another ramp from the Terminal).
- The steep ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with a handrail that switches sides.
- Lighting levels are low.
- Handrails are intermittent and do not cover the ramp's full length.
Ramp / Slope (From Standard Drop-Off Point to Terminal)
- The ramp is located next to the standard dop-off point, leading up to Level 0 of the Terminal.
- The ramp is used to access the Terminal from the standard drop-off point.
- The slight ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with a handrail on the right going up.
- Lighting levels are low.
Toilet with Adaptations (Level 0 - Pick Up and Drop Off Area - Left Hand Transfer)
- This toilet is located near the Pick Up and Drop Off Area.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- There is pictorial and ‘Not All Disabilities Are Visible’ signage on or near the door.
- The door to enter opens outwards and has a low visual contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 83cm.
- The door has a lever twist lock.
- Internally the door has a low visual contrast.
- There is a grab rail on the internal door with a medium visual contrast.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 180cm x 230cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat.
- The lateral transfer space is 110cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a wall sensor flush on the transfer side.
- There is a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side.
