Access Guide
Getting To The Airport
- Glasgow Prestwick Airport is located off the A79 to the north of Prestwick.
The A79 is linked from the A78 to Greenock and the A77 to Glasgow or Stranraer via the Monkton and Dutch House roundabouts to the north. - There are several car parks located close to the Terminal Building and Arrivals Hall.
Car Park 1 and the Drop Off/Pick Up point is located directly in front of the building.
Car Park 2 is located to the raised car parking area to the right of the building.
Car Park 3 is located on the opposite side of the roundabout from the main car parks, down beside the railway line. - For more information on live traffic information at Traffic Scotland please click here (opens new tab)
- There is a bus stop within 150 metres of the venue.
- There are bus stops located on either side of the A79 dual carriageway beside the airport, near the railway station passenger link bridge.

- The nearest Railway Station is Prestwick International Airport.
- To arrange for special assistance for your train journey to and from the Airport, please make contact the train operator ScotRail.
They will make necessary arrangements and advise the airport passenger assistance staff the time of your arrival.
If you are flying to or from the airport, and you need assistance between the aircraft and the train, the airport passenger assistance staff can arrange this.
This assistance is available during the hours that trains are scheduled to stop at the station.
For passengers travelling without special assistance, there is a passenger link bridge with lifts providing step-free access between the station and the airport.

Please contact the Airport Special Assistance Team to make arrangements.

Getting Help and Assistance

- There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
- There is a portable hearing assistance system.
- There is seating available.
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: wheelchairs and motorised wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance.
- There is not a quiet space or reflection space.
- British Sign Language interpreters can be provided on request.
- Water bowls for assistance dogs are available.
- There is not a designated assistance dog spending area.

Parking (Car Park 1)
- The car park is located in front of the Terminal building.
- This is an open air car park with a tarmac surface.
- The car park has a ticket barrier control system.
- There are more than 10 designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
- Blue Badge parking is clearly marked and signposted.
- The Blue Badge parking bay dimensions are 250cm x 500cm.
- There is a marked zone on both sides but not to the rear.
- The marked zone is under 120cm wide.
- There are no help points available.
- There are not parent and child parking bays available.

- Parking is not free for Blue Badge holders.
- Parking is free for pick up and drop off.
- Free pick-up and drop-off is limited to 60 (Blue Badge holders only) minutes.
- Clearly presented payment terms signs are provided.
- Payment signs are located at the entrance to the car park, at the payment machines in the car park and throughout the car park.
- There is a payment machine at a convenient height for wheelchair users.
- There is a level turning space (minimum 185cm x 210cm) in front of the payment machine(s).

- The car park has a ticket barrier control system at the exit.

Pick up and Drop Off Points (Car Park 1)
- There are clearly marked pick up and drop off points available.
- The drop-off point is located in front of the Terminal building.
- The drop-off point is limited to 60 minutes for £4.00, or free for Blue Badge holders.
- The most accessible route from the drop-off point to the terminal has step-free level access and dropped kerbs with tactile paving.
- The pick up point is located in front of the Terminal building.
- The pick-up point is limited to 60 minutes for £4.00, or free for Blue Badge holders.
- The most accessible route from the arrivals area to the pick-up point has step-free level access and dropped kerbs with tactile paving.

- The car park is located up the slope to the right of the Terminal building.
- This is an open air car park with a tarmac surface.
- The car park has a ticket and a push button barrier control system.
- There are no designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
- There are no help points available.
- There are not parent and child parking bays available.
- Parking is not free for pick up and drop off.
- Clearly presented payment terms signs are provided.
- Payment signs are located at the entrance to the car park.
- The most accessible route from the Blue Badge parking to the terminal building has slight ramps/slopes and dropped kerbs with tactile paving.
- There is a pedestrian crossing between the car park and the terminal.
- There is not a bus service available that runs between the car park and the terminal.
