About Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park

About Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park & National Park Authority

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, Scotland’s first National Park, was established in July 2002 to protect an area of outstanding and diverse landscapes, habitats and communities. The National Park is a living, working place, with a long-term vision to be carbon negative and nature positive - where people and nature can thrive together. The National Park Authority is the public body responsible for leading the delivery of this vision by protecting and enhancing the area’s natural and cultural heritage, promoting sustainable use of natural resources, supporting people to understand and enjoy the Park responsibly, while fostering sustainable social and economic development for local communities.

People, nature and climate are all connected. A thriving future for the National Park is a thriving future for all of us – but we all must work together so we can all benefit.
